At Barnes, we operate one of the largest composting facilities in the region. In fact, our immense selection of mulches, soils and soil amendments are second to none. Which is one reason we’re a favorite stop for landscapers and homeowners alike.
If you’re looking to drop off your yard trimmings for recycling, we are a convenient and affordable resource for you. We’re also expanding our composting services by partnering with communities and organizations to implement food disposal programs. It’s all part of our commitment to be a true friend of the environment.
Recycle your yard waste.
Did you know that each year, we recycle more than 20,000 tons of yard trimmings, food, agricultural and industrial residuals? It’s true! Just doing our part to protect the environment and keep waste out of landfills. We invite you to participate by dropping off any of the following:

(13″ diameter or less)

Other materials accepted for recycling in Huron include concrete, cement block, brick, asphalt foundry sand, manures and food waste (inquire).
Residents of Elyria and Bellevue can drop off any item listed above for FREE!

Sorry, there are some items we can’t recycle.
Please note that we cannot accept treated lumber, plastic, trash, pet waste, painted or treated wood, or waste contained in plastic bags. We are not accepting pallets at this time.
